Two hundred-seventy unique Colonial-era homes are in growing danger of damage and loss due to increased flooding in the Newport neighborhood known as “The Point.” Of the 25 properties owned by Newport Restoration Foundation, about one-third are at risk. Architects, engineers, and preservationists seek a balance between solving coastal threats and preserving the historic character of the homes.
